Overview
Contentbit is an MIT-licensed toolkit for structured Markdown content, now positioned as programmatic SEO infrastructure for coding agents. Content stays as plain Markdown with schema-validated directive blocks, and renders through React, Astro or plain Markdown adapters.
The shadcn registry provides the rendering layer: a content renderer plus block components for callouts, steps, key metrics, quick reference, comparisons, pros and cons, tabs and FAQs, each in React and Astro versions. Around that, the contentbit CLI defines page contracts, generates writing briefs for writers and agents, and runs a doctor check on structure, blocks and internal links before publishing.
Features
- Content renderer: Renders Content Blocks Markdown into React or Astro components.
- Block components: Callout, steps, key metrics, quick ref, comparison, pros and cons, tabs and FAQ.
- Page contracts: Define page families with required frontmatter, sections, blocks and minimum outgoing links.
- Agent briefs:
contentbit briefproduces a writing contract for each planned page. - Quality gate:
contentbit doctor --strict-seochecks structure and links locally, in agent loops and in CI. - Adoption mode: Scans existing Markdown and reports integrity issues and inferred contracts without changing files.
- Studio preview: A local studio previews briefs, pages, links and findings.
