Overview
ShadCN Themer is an open-source web app by Mike Tromba for creating, customizing and sharing themes for shadcn/ui. Users build color schemes in a visual editor with real-time previews, then export them as CSS or through the shadcn CLI registry format.
The site doubles as a community gallery with thousands of user-made themes that can be filtered by primary color, starred and forked. The app itself is built with Next.js 15, Tailwind CSS 4 and shadcn/ui, with PostgreSQL and Drizzle ORM for storage, Supabase for auth and file storage, and a Hono API.
Features
- Visual theme editor: A color picker with OKLCH color space support for every token.
- Live previews: Changes appear instantly across multiple UI components, in light and dark mode side by side.
- Export options: Copy the theme as CSS or install it through the shadcn CLI registry format.
- Import themes: Bring in an existing theme from CSS and keep editing it.
- Community gallery: Browse themes by color, fork other people's themes and star favorites.
- Fonts and radius: Pick Google Fonts with a live preview and adjust component border radius.
- User profiles: Each user has a profile showing their theme collection.
