Overview

Reely is an open-source movie and TV show tracker and streaming front end built on the TMDB API. It covers trending, popular, top-rated, now-playing and on-the-air titles, rich detail pages, and an in-page player that streams from a configurable external source.

The app is prerendered as a static export with Next.js 16 and React 19, deployed to Cloudflare Workers Static Assets, and installable as a PWA with a hand-written service worker. It is privacy-first: watchlist, watch history and recent searches live in the browser with no login. The UI uses shadcn/ui and Radix UI with a dark aurora theme, which makes it a useful reference for a media catalog app.

Features

Animated hero slider: Auto-rotating trending titles with an inline muted trailer, off by default on low-power devices.
Advanced filters: Sort, tri-state genre pills, rating, runtime, year, language, certification and streaming provider, live-applied and synced to the URL with nuqs.
Infinite scroll: Listing pages use TanStack useInfiniteQuery with an intersection observer.
Detail pages: Synopsis, cast, similar titles, recommendations, trailers and a season and episode navigator.
Command-palette search: A cmdk dialog with All, Movies and TV chips and recent searches.
Watchlist and history: Stored on the device, with no account required.
SEO: JSON-LD, Open Graph, dynamic OG images, sitemap and robots.
Optional IMDb ratings: Prebuilt static shards with a TMDB fallback, off by default.
