Overview
Open SaaS is a free, MIT-licensed SaaS boilerplate from the team behind Wasp, the full-stack React, Node.js and Prisma framework. Running wasp new -t saas scaffolds a complete app with authentication, payments, an admin dashboard, a landing page, background jobs and file uploads, with shadcn/ui for components and styling.
Because it is built on Wasp, much of the plumbing comes from the framework: full-stack auth in a few lines, end-to-end type safety between server and client, cron jobs and queues defined in config, and one-command deploys to Railway or Fly.io. It also ships an Astro Starlight site for docs and a blog, plus AI coding rules and plugins for tools like Claude Code and Cursor.
Features
- Authentication: Email verification plus Google, GitHub, Slack and Microsoft sign-in
- Payments: Stripe, Polar.sh or Lemon Squeezy
- Admin dashboard: Built with shadcn/ui
- Background jobs: Cron jobs and queues from Wasp
- File uploads: AWS S3
- Email: SendGrid, Mailgun or SMTP
- AI example: OpenAI API with function calling
- Analytics: Plausible or Google Analytics
