Overview
Cligentic applies the shadcn registry model to command-line tooling. Instead of UI components, it ships copy-paste TypeScript blocks for agent-first CLIs: trust ladders, killswitches, --json dual mode, audit trails and cross-platform helpers. The author, Railly Hugo, extracted them from production CLIs such as hapi-cli and sunat-cli.
The site catalogs 20 blocks in four clusters: cross-OS utilities, state handling, agent-ready output and safety. Blocks install with the shadcn CLI, need no components.json, and leave no runtime dependency on cligentic. Each block is also served as a raw .ts file, and a companion agent skill helps coding agents find and wire blocks into an existing CLI.
Features
- Agent-ready output:
json-modesplits data on stdout from guidance on stderr, andnext-stepsemits structured hints as NDJSON. - Safety gates:
killswitchblocks writes when a file exists, andtrust-ladderhandles approval previews,--yesand--confirm. - State helpers: XDG path resolution, atomic writes, append-only JSONL audit logs, profile-aware config and session token storage.
- Cross-OS utilities: Open URLs, copy to the clipboard and fire notifications on macOS, Linux, Windows, WSL and CI without throwing.
- CLI plumbing: A zero-dependency argv parser, standard global flags, typed
AppErrormapping, adoctorhealth-check pattern and opt-out telemetry. - First-run flows: An API key wizard, a secret prompt and a prompt to install a companion agent skill.
- Agent skill:
bunx --bun skills add Railly/cligentic --skill cligenticteaches agents to adopt blocks instead of rewriting them.
